Under Victorian Occupational Health and Safety (OHS) legislation and associated compliance codes, licences are required for asbestos removal work. There are two types of license for asbestos removal, Class A (friable and non-friable) and Class B (non-friable only). Note that OHS legislation permits an employer or self-employed person to conduct a limited amount of asbestos removal work without a licence in certain circumstances*.

HAZCON can assist you to comply with OHS legislation as we deliver a range of asbestos removal related training, as outlined below. Please click on the links to the HAZCON website for further details or call us on 1800 429 266 for a chat.

*A licence is not required if the Asbestos Containing Material (ACM) is non-friable, the area of ACM to be removed does not exceed 10 square metres in total, and the total time asbestos removal work is performed in any period of seven days does not exceed one hour (this period is the cumulative total time the asbestos removal work is carried out by all employees over a period of seven days).
